Ancient cultures still shrouded in mystery

Piruw—in Quechua and Aymara—was the cradle of the ancient Caral culture and then of the Inca culture, which reached its peak in the 16th century, until the Spanish arrived to conquer it.
The country deserves to be discovered, starting from its capital, Lima, and then moving on, thanks to Peru's luxury trains, to other locations that must be experienced to fully understand the beauty of these lands.
The Peruvian capital is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located between Caral and the interesting archaeological site of Pachacamac.
Today, Lima displays evidence of its past, especially in its historic center, which has preserved its ancient urban fabric.
A luxury train trip to Peru must include Cusco, where you'll marvel at the Inca engineering that created gigantic, precise stone structures like those you can admire in Choquequirao, Sacsayhuamán, Qenko, Tambomachay, Ollantaytambo, and Machu Picchu, the truly incredible center of the world, offering breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley. Don't miss the beautiful Arequipa, with its fascinating historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, it's magical to stroll through the city center, filled with palaces, churches, and monasteries built with the local volcanic stone that gives the city a unique tuff color alternating with the white walls of the houses. Another gem not to be missed on a luxury train trip in Peru is Lake Titicaca, on the border with Bolivia at over 3,800 meters above sea level within the ancestral land of the Quechua, Aymara, Uro, Pacajes, and Puquinas peoples, which is striking for the incredible intense blue color of its waters.

Not to be missed: Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, Cusco, Lago Titicaca, Canyon del Colca, Linee di Nazca, Arequipa
