The Maharajas Express consists of 14 carriages named after precious stones: Moti (Pearl), Hakik (Agate), Panna (Emerald), Firoza (Turquoise), Manik (Ruby), Heera (Diamond), Neelam (Blue Sapphire), Gomed (Hessonite), Katela (Amethyst), Moonga (Coral), Beruz (Aquamarine), Pukhraj (Sapphire) and Pitoniya (Hematite).
The cabins are divided into Deluxe (approximately 11 square metres), Junior Suites (approximately 14 square metres), Suites (approximately 20 square metres) and the Presidential Suite (approximately 42 square metres) to accommodate up to a maximum of 88 passengers.
All types of accommodation have a private bathroom with shower inside the cabin, and the Suites also have a bathtub. The only Presidential Suite on board occupies an entire carriage and consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious living area.
The style of the furnishings is inspired by the elegant royal carriages of the Maharajas, with traditional upholstery and antiques.
